about

"Do The Trikey" is a collection of Trike's 'Greatest Hits'! Spanning ten years, this album is a grab bag of songs from different phases of Trike's career.
Elements of folk, synth pop, drum n' bass, 80's love
songs and old-school gangsta rap pepper this album.

The lyrics explore various subjects from jogging to nihilism to quirky dance moves and summer sports. "Do The Trikey" follows Trike through its various line-up changes, from when Stephen Taylor first began recording with his trombone, Casio keyboard and trombone to his Holland recordings, which featured several other contributors, to the current line-up: Stephen Taylor and rapping/ fiddling/ tap-dancing goddess, Xania Keane.

It's a hyperactive, sporadic and ultimately fun compilation from this Vancouver Synth-Aerobic-Pop band.

Track Name: Do the Trikey
You say you're not much of a dancer,
I beg to differ.
If you've come to stand against the wall,
You've come to the wrong show,
Uh-oh.
All you beautiful babies,
Shake your hips.
This is not a grade 7 dance,
You're a big girl now.

(Chorus)
Do the Trikey,
Whoa-oh,
Whoa-oh (repeat)

Shake your hips,
Move your lips and kiss me.
I know you want to,
Although your mommy said 'no'.
Some people say this dance is nasty,
But we are Christian boys
(and girls)
Or are we?

And now's the time for all you boys and girls to learn,
The basic steps:
Left leg forward,
Right leg back,
Shake your hips wiggle that ass.
Track Name: Houston
(There's a time clock,
Silly little time clock,
There's a time clock perched above my head.)

You came back from Houston,
You drank a lot of coffee on the way.
You're going to Tucson,
And I'm sure you'll drop your religion on the way.

There's a delicate sound when you visit me,
I'm not sure if it's not just the beating of my heart,
But I'm so glad to see you,
Let me take your coat,
I haven't seen you since last march.

There have been a lot of changes,
As you can see.
Not to mention I have changed,
I'm sure can see,
Let me listen to you breathe.

(Chorus)
There's a time clock perched above my bed.
There's an apple sitting on my head,
There's a million details missing from this picture,
Don't you know.

I still have your picture,
Your eyes follow me as I dress in my room.
I won't forget your wisdom,
Springtime in the park,
Casting stares at the moon.

There's a delicate sound when you visit me,
I'm not sure if it's not just the beating of my heart,
But I'm so glad to be rid of you,
The heart may cry,
But that's alright.

There have been a lot of changes,
As you can see.
Not to mention I have changed,
I'm sure can see,
Please don't breathe.

There is a time clock,
There's a time.
There is an apple,
There's a lime.
There is your car sitting,
With the motor on,
And I want you to go.
Uh-oh.

(Chorus)
